Ming Dynasty Primed for 2015 Hong Kong Vase

December 1st, 2015

Prominent French trainer Mikel Delzangles is thrilled with the condition of talented European stayer Ming Dynasty and has confirmed the horse will travel to Sha Tin to contest the 2015 Hong Kong Vase (2400m) on December 9th.

Ming Dynasty has appeared on course only five times competitively since debuting in April this year, but has fast stamped himself as a serious racing prospect; posting an impressive and dominant four wins.

Delzangles told the Hong Kong Jockey Club the King’s Best colt has taken plenty of benefit from his most recent run for success in the Group 2 Prix Du Conseil De Paris (2400m) at Chantilly on October 18th and is primed for a big performance in the 2015 Hong Kong Vase.

“Ming Dynasty has been very good since Chantilly. He has been training well and seems to be improving,” Delzangles said.

“I was very disappointed with his run at Longchamp. He was in a bad state that day and was very nervous and upset before the race.

“That was not the case at Chantilly. Since then, he has been much calmer and more mature at home.”

Ming Dynasty trialled well in the lead up to his competitive debut earlier this year, and immediately stamped himself as one to watch when producing an impressive late sprint to take out the Prix Du Centre Commercial Montesson (2400m) by close to two lengths on April 25th.

Returning to the paddock for a brief spell following the run, Ming Dynasty returned this time for consecutive wins in the Prix Shakesperean (2400m) and Grand Prix De Clairfontaine (2400m); running sixth in the Group 2 Prix Niel (2400m) in his only other start prior to his most recent success.

Delzangles has experienced plenty of top honours in Australian racing since the turn of the century; most notably saddling Dunaden to success in the 2011 edition of the Melbourne Cup.

Ladbrokes.com.au is currently offering the best 2015 Hong Kong Vase odds, for which Ming Dynasty can be taken at a particularly generous quote of $10.
